The airport is situated on Governador Island, about 20 kilometers from the city center of Rio de Janeiro. It is presently managed by Infaero. A number of its amenities are shared with the Brazilian Air Force�s Galeao Air Force Base. Air France, British Airways, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, TAM Paraguay, United Airlines and US Airways are some of the airlines serving the airport.
Sao Paulo/Guarulhos - Governor Andre Franco Montoro International Airport (airport code: GRU) is also a major air transportation hub in Brazil. It is considered the busiest airport in the country in terms of passenger traffic. The airport is situated in the region of Cumbica, in Guarulhos City, approximately 25 kilometers from the city center of Sao Paulo. El Al is the newest air carrier to begin operations at Sao Paulo Airport since May 2009. Air China was regarded as the latest carrier to stop operations at Sao Paulo Airport due to rising fuel prices. But Air China declared that it will continue its operations at Sao Paulo starting with December 2009.
