Since it is one of the top tourist destinations in the world, it is probably not surprising that France has several major international airports within its borders. The vast majority of international travelers, however, will first set foot in the country in one of the two big airports that serve the capital city of Paris. You will find a brief introduction to Paris' airports here (along with notes about the other big France airports), but for more information click on the airports in Paris page. And be sure to check out these France airfare deals, as well as this France travel guide to help you plan your trip.

By far the biggest and busiest airport in France, as well as in Paris, is Charles de Gaulle International Airport (airport code CDG). Only London's outrageously huge Heathrow outpaces CDG in terms of passenger traffic. Charles de Gaulle is the home airport for France's flag carrier, Air France, and since Air France's merger with KLM it is also where the headquarters for the merged company is located. A full list of all the airlines serving Charles de Gaulle is here.

Paris' second airport is Paris-Orly Airport (airport code ORY), and while it is also a big international airport it is significantly smaller than CDG. It is, however, slightly more popular with Europe's budget airlines - including easyJet, which considers Orly a base airport - so it can be cheaper to fly into Orly (depending on where you are coming from). You can find a list of all airlines flying in and out of Orly on this page.

Aside from those big Paris airports, the one which ranks third in terms of passenger traffic is in the popular beach city of Nice. The Cote d'Azur International Airport (airport code NCE) is the main airport for the resort city as well as the city-state of Monaco, and is well-served by the airlines on this list. Flight tracking for arrivals in Nice is available here and departures is here. Airport services include the dining options on this page and the shops listed here, and ground transportation options include bus, shuttle, taxi and trains. If you would prefer to have your own car, you can rent from one of these agencies, which are all located at the airport.
