Cheap Airline Tickets to United Kingdom
Most travelers who have the United Kingdom as their destination will end up flying into one of the London airports - whether they intend to stop in London or are just being routed through the capital - but there are many other international airports throughout the U.K. which you may end up flying into or through. This list is by no means a complete one, but it covers the biggest international airports in the United Kingdom. When you are researching your trip, be sure to check out the deals on tickets to England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales - and find out more about what to do when you get there with this United Kingdom travel guide.
As mentioned, most visitors to the U.K. will arrive through one of the major airports in London - Heathrow, Gatwick, or Stansted. To find out more about each of those airports, you will want to click through this link where you can read about airlines which use those airports as hubs, and also about how to get to and from each airport.
Manchester Airport (airport code MAN) is, after London's airports, the biggest and busiest in the United Kingdom. In addition to lots of domestic traffic, Manchester's airport also has international service to and from North America, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and elsewhere around the globe. It is a base airport for Jet2.com, Monarch Airlines, and Thomas Cook Airlines, and you can find out all destinations served from Manchester (and the airlines to get you there) from this page. Your ground transportation options, which include train and taxi, are listed here - and if you want to rent a car you can do it from one of the companies on this page.
Glasgow International Airport (airport code GLA) is the largest and busiest in Scotland, and is run by the same company which oversees Scotland's second-busiest airport in Edinburgh (as well as London's three airports and several others elsewhere in the U.K.). Loganair maintains a hub at Glasgow, and you can get a list of all the airlines with service to and from Glasgow on this page. Ground transportation, including train and bus, is detailed here, and car rental companies with desks at the airport are listed here.
Edinburgh Airport (airport code EDI) is Scotland's second-busiest airport, although proposed development at Edinburgh's airport could make it the largest in the country. A list of all the airlines serving Edinburgh is here, and you can track flights here (arrivals) and here (departures). Your choices for ground transport are listed on this page, and car rental companies operating at the airport are here.
Other airports in the U.K. include Newcastle Airport (airport code NCL) in England, Belfast International Airport (airport code BFS) in Northern Ireland, and Cardiff International Airport (airport code CWL) in Wales.
